Referral Terms

These terms cover the This Uncommon Life referral program and the video testimonial reward. They apply to anyone who shares a referral link or email invitation, and to anyone who joins through one. By sharing your link or accepting a reward, you agree to these terms. If anything is unclear, email hello@thisuncommonlife.com.
Who can refer
Anyone can refer, with or without an account.
- Customers and mentors have personal referral links and an email invitation box in the Rewards tab of their dashboard.
- Everyone else asks their friend to add their name and email under Did someone refer you? at checkout. See the Refer a Friend page.
If you are also in our affiliate program, a sale earns either a referral reward or an affiliate commission, not both.
Who counts as a referred friend
- Your friend names you at checkout, or buys within 60 days of first opening your referral link or receiving your email invitation, with the email address you invited or in the browser where they opened your link.
- Your friend is new to what they buy: new to Plan A, new to Uncommon Mentorship, or buying a Toolkit they have not bought before.
- One person gets the reward for each purchase. If your friend names someone at checkout, that person gets it. Otherwise, the first link or invitation we can match counts.
- You cannot refer yourself, someone who uses your account, or another account or email address you control.

Your friend’s reward works alongside the Head Start Award. We do not offer discounts through the referral program.
When a reward becomes final
A reward becomes final once your friend can no longer get a refund:
- Plan A: after the end of your friend’s week 3.
- Monthly mentorship plan: when your friend pays for their second month.
- Annual mentorship plan: after the 30-day refund window.
- Toolkits: 7 days after purchase.
- Mentor referral: when we hire the person you referred.
If your friend’s purchase is refunded or cancelled within these windows, the referral does not earn a reward, and we email you to let you know. If a purchase we rewarded is later charged back, we may deduct that reward from your future rewards.
How we pay rewards
- Toolkits and extra sessions appear in your dashboard as soon as the reward is final.
- Cash rewards for customers go to the PayPal email you save in the Rewards tab. We approve and send them once a month, at the end of the month. If you have not saved a PayPal email, we hold the reward until you add one.
- Cash rewards for mentors are added to your next monthly mentor payment.
- People without an account: when your reward is final, we email you a link to claim it. Claim it within 60 days, and give us a PayPal email for cash rewards. Gift cards go to the email address your friend gave us. Unclaimed rewards expire after 60 days.
- There is no minimum payout.
Rewards cannot be transferred, exchanged for something else or turned into cash, apart from the cash rewards above. We email you when your friend joins, when a reward is approved and when we send it.
Video testimonial reward
If you are on Plan A or an Uncommon Mentorship plan, you can record one video about your own experience and receive one $20 Amazon gift card. The form and recording tips are in the Rewards tab of your dashboard.
- We pay for every honest video that meets the recording basics, whatever you say. We only decline a video that we cannot use because of its sound or picture, that is missing the consents, or that breaks the law or someone else’s rights.
- By sending your video, you give This Uncommon Life LLC permission to use the video, the name you give us for the caption and your likeness on our website, in emails and on social media, without further payment.
- When we publish your video, we say that you received a gift card for recording it.
- You can ask us to stop using your video at any time by email. We will stop using it in new material and remove it from our website within 30 days.
- We send the gift card to your account email after we approve the video, usually at the end of that month.
Reviews
We do not offer rewards for reviews on Trustpilot or any other review site. If you leave a review, it is entirely your own.
How to share your link
- Recommend us the way you would to a friend, and describe what we sell accurately.
- When you share your link publicly, for example on social media or in a newsletter, say clearly that you get a reward when people join through it.
- Do not promise income, results or anything we do not promise ourselves.
- Do not send unsolicited bulk email, post your link on coupon or deal sites, or bid on our brand name in paid search.
- Do not create accounts or make purchases to earn rewards for yourself.
Taxes
Cash rewards and gift cards may count as taxable income where you live, and you are responsible for any taxes on them. If the law requires it, we may ask for tax information before we pay a reward.
Your information
To run the program, we keep a record of who referred whom, the emails you invite, the referrer details given at checkout and the status of each reward. We use these emails only to send invitations and reward emails and to match purchases. We do not add anyone to our newsletter this way. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.
Fraud and misuse
We may withhold or cancel a reward, and remove someone from the program, if a referral breaks these terms or looks fraudulent. We make these decisions in good faith and will tell you why if we do.
Changes to the program
We may change or end the referral program or the video testimonial reward at any time by updating this page. A referral follows the terms in place on the day your friend bought, and a video follows the terms in place on the day you sent it.
Governing law
Florida law governs these terms. Any dispute about them is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Florida.
